Real Time Auto Repair
An oil change at Real Time Auto Repair is an oil change plus a mechanic’s eyes on your vehicle. Every service includes a 40-point inspection with tire tread and pressure, brake measurements, battery test, belts, hoses, fluids, lights and a look underneath for leaks, and you get it as a photo report with green, yellow and red status so nothing is a surprise later.
Full-synthetic oil change: $59.99 for most cars and $89.99 for trucks and vans, filter included. Diesel and high-capacity engines are quoted.
Tire rotation: free with any oil change.
Factory-schedule maintenance: priced by vehicle. We’ll show you what the manufacturer calls for at your mileage and what can safely wait.
Oil changes are done in under an hour by appointment, and scheduled maintenance is usually same-day. Early drop-off and after-hours key drop are available, and we reset the maintenance light every time.
How often? Most modern engines on synthetic oil run 5,000–7,500 miles or six months. Turbo engines and vehicles that idle a lot should stay closer to 5,000.
Scheduled PMs by mileage or calendar with reminders before each vehicle is due, first bays in the morning, a photo report for every vehicle and one monthly invoice. Ask about our fleet program.

1. Why is an oil change necessary?
Regular oil changes keep your engine clean, reduce friction, improve
performance, and extend the lifespan of your vehicle by preventing wear and
tear.
2. How often should I get an oil change?
It depends on your vehicle and oil type. Conventional oil needs changing every
3,000 to 5,000 miles, while synthetic oil lasts 7,500 to 10,000 miles. Check
your owner’s manual for specific guidelines.
3. What are the signs my car needs an oil change?
Signs include dirty or low oil, engine noises, an oil change or check engine
light that is lit, reduced fuel efficiency, or an unusual burning smell.
4. Can I skip an oil change if I don’t drive much?
Even if you don’t drive frequently, oil degrades over time. To maintain engine
health, it’s recommended that you change it at least once a year.
5. What happens if I don’t change my oil regularly?
Neglecting oil changes can lead to sludge buildup, reduced engine efficiency,
overheating, and potentially severe engine damage.
6. How long does an oil change take?
An oil change typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the vehicle and
additional services requested.
7. What type of oil does my car need?
Your car may require conventional, synthetic blend, or full synthetic oil. Our
experts at Real Time Auto Repair in Salem, OR, can recommend the best option for
your vehicle.
8. Is it better to use synthetic oil?
Synthetic oil offers better engine protection, lasts longer, and performs
better in extreme temperatures, making it ideal for many modern vehicles.
9. Does an oil change include a filter replacement?
Yes, most oil change services include replacing the oil filter to ensure
optimal performance and engine cleanliness.
10. Why choose Real Time Auto Repair for an oil change in
